An interesting list of drop-in replacements of the major Adobe/Autodesk programs used in the graphics world. Most are for Windows/Mac, but there are also versions for Linux. Cinelerra is also mentioned:

I agree with you. It is difficult to get out of ones bias to explore other things.
This just made me mad and I posted a comment there about what an insult it was to software programmers everywhere (most of who probably worked for free). But at least they tried Cinelerra and I expect it was the original HV version.
I just did a search for reviews using several different search engines, but can find little about Cin on the net and what there is is not usually very complimentary. I dont understand why.
